HMA understands that a commercial building is an investment. In addition to being part of your business identity, a place of business needs to be a fiscally sound investment. It must allow your business to grow and prosper. We won't spend your money needlessly on glitz and glitter that only the architect seems to want. We will make the most of your budget based on your priorities, not ours. We are team players. It takes a very self-confident designer to allow someone else to take a roll in the design of a building, but what we have learned from experience is that you know more about your needs than we do. We listen and respond. We don't dictate.

Most people believe architects are only concerned with the appearance of a building, but one of our primary concerns is the health, safety, and welfare of the building's occupants. Another major concern of ours is to produce plans that are meaningful to you and to the contractor. In fact, many of our clients are builders who have recognized the value added by our services. We know how to tailor our designs and services to the unique demands and needs of each and every client. Together we will determine what information and level of services you want and need, and that is what we will provide.

As you well know, time is money, and there are proven ways to speed up the process of a traditional design-bid-build job. Nothing is more frustrating than redesigns and delays due to over budget projects. We have provided architectural services for a number of design-build projects, and this system allows the pricing and budget issues to be addressed up front. If you want to get your project moving as fast as possible, and you want to keep it moving, this may be a good option to consider.

We can be involved in commercial projects in a variety of ways. On some projects we might work directly with a builder to design either a speculative building or a building for a specific client. With other projects we may work with the business owner and a contractor to design a project to meet a deadline. Other times we work with a client to develop plans for competitive bidding. Once again the key issue is what works best for our clients.
